Of course it may not work well, but sometimes when they say something is designed to work with such-and-such they are being overly picky. I remember doing that many years ago with some other browser. An alternative is to see if there's some hack that allows your own browser to tell the web site that it is IE6. Not a lot to go one but web search engines are your friend. There's no download on Apple's site since it is intended you keep the discs for as long as you have the computer since there do arise times when you or the subsequent owner need them, even years later.

On Catalina you can use homebrew to install either wine-stable or wine-devel to see all available options run brew search wine.
Currently these changes are only available in their commercial CrossOver product, but they say they will submit their changes upstream to Wine. CodeWeavers, who develops CrossOver and by extension Wine, has developed solution for bit software, and they've posted some updates on their blog about it. It's only possible to use Wine for some bit Windows software.
